- 2 slices whole-grain bread
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 tablespoons crumbled feta cheese
- 4 fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes or drizzle of balsamic glaze
Instructions
- Toast the bread slices until golden and crisp.
- Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash with a fork to desired consistency, then stir in lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the mashed avocado evenly over each toast slice.
- Top with crumbled feta cheese and fresh basil.
- Add optional red pepper flakes or balsamic glaze if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a vegan version, omit feta or use vegan feta. You can also add cherry tomatoes or a poached egg for extra flavor.
