Description

A quick and easy sheet pan dinner with tender beef and crisp broccoli in a savory sauce, ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and water to make the sauce.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the sliced beef and broccoli florets with olive oil and half of the sauce.
  4. Spread the beef and broccoli in a single layer on the prepared sheet pan.
  5. Roast for 10-12 minutes, until beef is cooked through and broccoli is tender-crisp.
  6. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the cooked beef and broccoli, toss to coat, and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra heat, add 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes to the sauce. You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu if desired.
