- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1–2 drops pink food coloring

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 drops pink food coloring
- For Decoration:
- Sprinkles (optional)
- Edible glitter (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Mix until just combined.
- Add pink food coloring and mix until the batter reaches your desired shade of pink.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting: Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in heavy cream and vanilla extract until smooth. Add pink food coloring and mix well.
- Spread frosting evenly over the cooled cake. Decorate with sprinkles or edible glitter if desired.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For a deeper pink color, add more food coloring. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
