- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until fully combined.
- Mix in the chocolate chips and walnuts if using.
- Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a festive touch, add red and green sprinkles or holiday-shaped chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
