For the Crust:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix in cocoa, flour, and salt until just combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Spread brownie batter into prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of cheesecake mixture over the top. Swirl with a knife.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges pull away from pan. Cool completely before cutting.
