Description

A succulent pork shoulder slow-cooked with caramelized apples and a flavorful sage-infused gravy, perfect for a hearty fall meal.


Ingredients

  • 3 lbs pork shoulder, boneless
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh sage leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large oven-safe pot, heat olive oil over medium heat and sear the pork on all sides until browned.
  4. Add onions, garlic, and apples around the pork.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and add sage leaves.
  6. Cover and roast in the oven for 3 hours, or until tender.
  7. Remove pork and let rest, then make gravy from the pan juices.
