This spiced apple cider donut loaf is a delightful twist on traditional donuts, baked as a loaf with a crunchy cinnamon sugar crust.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the crust: 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with apple cider, mixing until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While still warm, mix sugar and cinnamon for the crust and sprinkle over the top.
Notes
Best served warm. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
