- 6 slices bacon
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
- Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp; remove and crumble, reserving the grease.
- In the same skillet, add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir to coat with the grease.
- Cook cabbage until tender, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the crumbled bacon and smoked paprika; season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
For extra smokiness, use hickory-smoked bacon. This pairs well with grilled meats.
