- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to make a roux and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder; stir until melted and smooth.
- Mix the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well coated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
Notes
For a crispier top, broil for the last 2 minutes. This recipe can be customized with additional spices or vegetables.
