Description

This slow cooker turkey breast is a juicy and flavorful main dish that’s perfect for a holiday meal or any day. It’s easy to prepare with simple ingredients and cooks to perfection in the slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 1 (6 pound) bone-in turkey breast
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Fresh herbs like rosemary and thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the turkey breast and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub the turkey with vegetable oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Add the turkey breast on top of the vegetables.
  5. Pour the chicken broth around the turkey.
  6. Add fresh herbs if using.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Remove the turkey from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, baste the turkey halfway through cooking if possible. Ensure the turkey is fully thawed before cooking for even results.
