Description
These sweet and savory carrots are cooked slowly with maple syrup and brown sugar for a perfect glazed side dish.

- 2 pounds carrots, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Peel and slice the carrots, then place them in the slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, salt, pepper, and water until well combined.
- Pour the mixture over the carrots in the slow cooker and stir to coat.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until carrots are tender.
- Stir once halfway through cooking for even glazing.
- Serve warm as a side dish.
Notes
For a healthier version, reduce the sugar by half; store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
