Description

These festive red velvet cookies shaped like Christmas trees are perfect for the holiday season. Decorated with green icing and sprinkles, they’re a fun treat for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • Green icing for decorating
  • Sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and food coloring; mix well.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and shape into triangles resembling Christmas trees. Place on prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire racks.
  7. Decorate with green icing and sprinkles once cooled.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before shaping. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
