Description

A flavorful Indian curry made with tender chicken in a creamy tomato-based sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken thighs, cut into pieces
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with ginger, garlic, salt, and half of the garam masala for 15 minutes.
  2. In a pan, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onions until golden.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Stir in tomato puree, cumin, coriander, and turmeric; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and remaining garam masala; cook for another 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.

Notes

For a spicier version, add chopped green chilies or chili powder to taste. Best served with naan or rice.
