Description
These golden, crunchy pistachio-crusted brie bites are a delightful appetizer, perfect for any gathering. The creamy brie melts in your mouth while the nutty crust adds a satisfying texture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Prep the brie: Cut the brie into uniform cubes and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 15 minutes to firm up.
- Set up the breading station: In three shallow bowls, place the flour in one, beaten eggs in the second, and a mixture of chopped pistachios and breadcrumbs in the third.
- Bread the brie: Dredge each brie cube in flour, shake off excess, dip in egg, then roll in the pistachio-breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Fry the bites: Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet to 350°F. Fry the brie bites in batches, about 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve immediately: Enjoy with crackers, fruit, or a dipping sauce.
Notes
For a healthier option, bake at 400°F for 10-12 minutes instead of frying. Brie can ooze, so handle carefully.
