Description

A festive tart featuring fresh pears and crunchy pistachios, perfect for holiday gatherings with a buttery crust and sweet filling.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup shelled pistachios, chopped
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a food processor, combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press the dough into a tart pan and chill for 15 minutes.
  4. Arrange sliced pears over the dough and sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
  5. Drizzle honey and vanilla extract over the top.
  6. Brush edges with egg wash for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.

Notes

For a nut-free version, substitute pistachios with seeds. Best served warm.
