Description

A festive puff pastry wreath featuring fresh pears, creamy blue cheese, and crunchy hazelnuts, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
  • 100g blue cheese, crumbled
  • 50g hazelnuts, toasted and chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet into a large circle on a floured surface.
  3. Arrange the pear slices in a circular pattern on the pastry, leaving a border around the edge.
  4. Sprinkle the blue cheese and hazelnuts evenly over the pears, then season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to form a wreath shape, brushing with egg wash for a golden finish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

This wreath is best served warm and pairs well with a light salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
