Tart cranberries and bright orange flavor combine in these soft, chewy cookies perfect for the holidays or any time of year.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs

  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cups dried cranberries
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla, orange zest, and orange juice.
  5. Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
  6. Fold in cranberries and white chocolate chips if using.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For extra orange flavor, add more zest. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
