- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup pitted Kalamata olives, chopped
- 2 tablespoons capers, drained
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled for layering
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine olives, capers, garlic, lemon zest, and parsley. Pulse until finely chopped to make the tapenade.
- In a separate bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with salt and pepper until smooth.
- On a piece of plastic wrap, spread half of the cream cheese mixture into a log shape.
- Layer the olive tapenade evenly over the cream cheese.
- Top with the remaining cream cheese and shape into a log. Wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Before serving, roll the log in crumbled feta cheese or chopped herbs for garnish. Serve with crackers or bread.
Notes
This recipe is best served chilled and pairs well with wine. Adjust olive quantity for a stronger flavor.
