These bite-sized maple pecan butterballs are a delightful blend of buttery richness, sweet maple syrup, and crunchy pecans, perfect for holiday treats or anytime snacking.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Additional powdered sugar for rolling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and maple syrup until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped pecans.
- Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour or until firm.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
- Place balls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden on the bottom.
- Remove from oven and immediately roll in additional powdered sugar while warm.
- Cool on wire racks and roll in powdered sugar again if desired.
Notes
For extra maple flavor, drizzle the cooled butterballs with additional maple syrup. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
