- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter
- For the topping:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13×9 inch baking dish.
- Prepare the German chocolate cake mix according to package instructions and bake in the prepared dish. Allow to cool slightly.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the warm cake.
- In a bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, coconut, and pecans. Pour over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until fluffy.
- Spread frosting over the cooled cake. Garnish with chocolate shavings. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Ensure the cake is fully cooled before frosting to prevent melting. Store in the refrigerator.
