Description

A decadent German chocolate poke cake layered with coconut, pecans, and chocolate frosting for an indulgent dessert experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • For the topping:
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13×9 inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the German chocolate cake mix according to package instructions and bake in the prepared dish. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the warm cake.
  4. In a bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, coconut, and pecans. Pour over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.
  5. For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until fluffy.
  6. Spread frosting over the cooled cake. Garnish with chocolate shavings. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Ensure the cake is fully cooled before frosting to prevent melting. Store in the refrigerator.
