Description

Homemade gyoza with a savory filling of ground pork, cabbage, and garlic, perfect for a Japanese appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 g ground pork
  • 1 cup napa cabbage, shredded
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 package gyoza wrappers
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well combined.
  2. Place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of a gyoza wrapper.
  3. Wet the edges with water and fold the wrapper into a half-moon shape, pleating one side.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the gyoza until golden on the bottom.
  5. Add water, cover, and steam for 5 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

Ensure the filling is not over-seasoned; adjust to taste. For a vegetarian version, substitute pork with mushrooms.
