- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the fresh green beans to the pan and stir to coat with the drippings.
- Pour in the chicken broth, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the beans are tender.
- Stir in the reserved bacon, season with salt and pepper, and serve hot.
Notes
For a healthier version, use turkey bacon. This recipe pairs well with grilled meats.
