A simple and delicious casserole made with sweet potatoes.

- 4 cups sweet potatoes, mashed
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 stick butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the sweet potatoes, white sugar, eggs, milk, salt, 1/3 stick of melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- For the topping: In a medium bowl, mix the brown sugar, flour, 1/3 cup melted butter, and chopped pecans.
- Sprinkle the mixture over the sweet potato mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the topping is lightly browned.
Notes
This is a family favorite; ensure potatoes are well-mashed for a smooth texture.
