  • Author: Chef Mia

Description

A warm, spiced quick bread swirled with cinnamon-sugar apples and topped with a sweet glaze, perfect for autumn mornings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. Alternately add flour mixture and milk to butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Fold in half the apple mixture.
  5. Pour half the batter into pan. Top with remaining apples, then remaining batter. Swirl gently with a knife.
  6. Bake 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
  7. Whisk powdered sugar and milk for glaze. Drizzle over cooled bread before serving.
