- 1 lb German sausages (such as bratwurst or kielbasa), sliced
- 6 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Optional Garnishes
- Chopped fresh parsley
- Sour cream
Instructions
- Preparation:
- Prepare the vegetables by peeling and dicing the potatoes, chopping the onion, and mincing the garlic.
- Cooking the Soup:
- Brown the sausages in a skillet over medium heat until nicely browned on both sides, then remove and set aside.
- In the slow cooker, melt the butter. Add the onions and garlic and cook on high for about 15 minutes until softened.
- Add diced potatoes, cooked sausages, chicken broth, marjoram, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the potatoes are tender.
- Finishing:
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot garnished with fresh parsley and a dollop of sour cream if desired.
