A creamy and cheesy baked dish made with sweet potatoes, perfect for holiday meals.

- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg over medium heat until it simmers.
- Layer half of the sweet potato slices in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese.
- Add the remaining sweet potato slices and pour the rest of the cream mixture on top.
- Dot with butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and potatoes are tender.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
This dish pairs well with roasted turkey or ham. For a healthier version, substitute heavy cream with almond milk.
