Description
A sweet and salty snack made with crackers coated in homemade caramel and topped with sea salt.
Ingredients

- 1 sleeve saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, plus extra for sprinkling
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until it boils.
- Let the mixture boil for 3 minutes without stirring, then remove from heat.
- Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the crackers and spread if needed.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips, and let them melt for 2 minutes.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the caramel layer and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces and serve.
Notes
For best results, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
