Description

A moist and flavorful cake with orange and vanilla flavors, reminiscent of a classic creamsicle.


Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 (3 oz) package orange gelatin
  • 1 cup orange soda
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the frosting: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons orange juice, 1 teaspoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, orange gelatin, orange soda, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well blended.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool completely. For the frosting, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth.
  5. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

This cake can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For a stronger orange flavor, add more zest.
