A simple and flavorful one-pan dish featuring tender chicken simmered in a rich tomato sauce with Italian herbs.

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Return chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
