  • Author: Chef Mia

Description

A comforting one-pot dish featuring ground beef, orzo pasta, and a rich tomato cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add garlic, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in orzo pasta, crushed tomatoes, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  6. Reduce heat to low, stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
