Description

A classic holiday side dish featuring green beans baked in a creamy mushroom sauce topped with crispy fried onions.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 1/3 cups French-fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish, mix together the green beans, soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper.
  3. Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
  4. Remove from oven and stir. Sprinkle the top with the French-fried onions.
  5. Bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.

Notes

For a crispier topping, broil for the last 1-2 minutes. This dish can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
