For the Crust:
- 12 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles, until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in cooked sausage, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until well coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
