For the Crust:

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Pour in crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
