Description
A simple and vibrant pasta dish featuring sweet cherry tomatoes, garlic, and fresh basil.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz pasta (such as spaghetti or linguine)
- 2 pints cherry tomatoes, halved
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add cherry tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes, until tomatoes soften and release their juices.
- Add drained pasta to the skillet along with a splash of reserved pasta water. Toss to combine, adding more pasta water if needed to create a light sauce.
- Stir in fresh basil and adjust seasoning. Serve immediately topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
