A creamy and flavorful Indian dish made with tender chicken in a spiced tomato and butter sauce.

- 1 kg boneless chicken thighs, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 can (400g) tomato puree
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken pieces in yogurt, garlic, ginger, turmeric, chili powder, cumin, and salt for 30 minutes.
- In a large pan, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onions until golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until the chicken is browned on all sides.
- Stir in the tomato puree and garam masala, then simmer for 20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
Notes
For a spicier version, increase the chili powder. Pairs well with rice or naan bread.
