For the Crust:

  • 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: vanilla ice cream or yogurt for serving

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix oats, walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in melted butter until mixture is crumbly.
  3. Spoon the crumble mixture evenly over each pear half, pressing lightly to adhere.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until pears are tender and topping is golden brown.
  5. Serve warm, optionally topped with ice cream or yogurt.
