Description

A classic creamy baked macaroni and cheese with a golden crust.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth.
  4. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
  5. Add cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika; stir until cheese melts.
  6. Mix cheese sauce with cooked macaroni and pour into a baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.

Notes

For a crispier top, broil for the last 2 minutes. Adjust cheese for creaminess.
