For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup apple cider, reduced to 1/4 cup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix reduced apple cider, milk, melted butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed. Spoon batter into donut pan.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly before glazing.
