Apple Pie Egg Rolls

A fun fusion dessert that combines the flavors of classic apple pie with the crispy texture of egg rolls.

For the Crust:

  • 4 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for coating
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch in a bowl. Mix well and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Place an egg roll wrapper diagonally. Spoon 2-3 tbsp of apple mixture in the center. Fold bottom corner over filling, then fold sides toward center. Roll tightly and seal edge with water.
  3. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Brush with melted butter and roll in granulated sugar while still warm. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
