Description

A delightful and festive poke cake featuring a bunny design, perfect for Easter celebrations with layers of cake soaked in sweetened condensed milk and topped with colorful frostings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • Gel food coloring (pink for ears, assorted for decorations)
  • Decorations: Large marshmallows for ears, candy eyes, chocolate chips for eyes and nose, shredded coconut for fur

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions using water, oil, and eggs; pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes, then poke holes all over the top using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thickened; spread this mixture over the cake.
  6. Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour to set.
  7. Once set, spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer and use gel food coloring to tint portions for decorations.
  8. Decorate the cake to resemble a bunny: Use marshmallows for ears, candy eyes, chocolate chips for features, and shredded coconut for fur effect.
  9. Refrigerate until ready to serve, and slice into squares for serving.

Notes

For a more vibrant bunny, use fresh gel colors and ensure the cake is fully cooled before decorating to prevent melting.
