- 8 oz rigatoni pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage, mild or spicy
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the rigatoni pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet; sauté until softened.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and heavy cream; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
For a spicier version, use hot Italian sausage. Pair with garlic bread.
