Description

Festive Christmas wreath meringues are light, airy meringue cookies swirled into a wreath shape and topped with whipped cream and fresh berries for a holiday treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the wreath: 1/2 tsp green food coloring
  • For decoration:
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 225°F (107°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gradually add sugar, beating continuously until glossy and sugar is dissolved.
  4. Mix in vanilla extract and green food coloring to create a light green hue.
  5. Pipe the meringue onto the parchment in a wreath shape using a piping bag.
  6. Bake for 1-1.5 hours until crisp but still white inside. Turn off oven and cool inside.
  7. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks.
  8. Top the wreath with whipped cream and arrange berries on top to resemble decorations.

Notes

These meringues are delicate, so store in an airtight container. Avoid making on humid days.
