- 1 cup caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 300 ml thickened cream, whipped
- Assorted fresh fruits (such as strawberries, kiwi, and blueberries) for decoration
- Icing sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites and salt until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition until the mixture is thick and glossy.
- Fold in the vanilla extract, white vinegar, and cornstarch.
- Spoon the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping it into a Christmas tree form with layers.
- Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and leave the pavlova inside to cool completely.
- Once cooled, carefully transfer to a serving plate and top with whipped cream.
- Decorate with fresh fruits and dust with icing sugar before serving.
