Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the dough in half, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into ornament shapes.
- Place cookies on prepared sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on wire racks before decorating with royal icing and sprinkles.
