Description

These festive Christmas Cranberry Walnut Cheese Balls are an easy, no-bake appetizer perfect for holiday gatherings. Featuring tangy cream cheese rolled in sweet cranberries and crunchy walnuts, they’re a delightful savory-sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz (227g) cream cheese, softened
  • 4 oz (113g) goat cheese or feta, crumbled
  • 1 cup (120g) dried cranberries, roughly chopped
  • ¾ cup (85g) walnuts, toasted and roughly chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped (scallions)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • additional walnuts and cranberries for rolling

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and goat cheese until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the chopped dried cranberries, walnuts, green onions, salt, pepper, rosemary (if using), and minced garlic. Mix everything together until well combined.
  3. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm enough to shape.
  4. Remove from the refrigerator and scoop out tablespoon-sized portions. Roll into balls using your hands.
  5. Roll each cheese ball in a mixture of additional chopped walnuts and cranberries for coating.
  6. Place the coated cheese balls on a plate or platter. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  7. Serve with crackers, grapes, or fresh veggies for dipping.

Notes

These cheese balls can be made up to 2 days in advance. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container. For extra flavor, adjust the seasonings to your taste.
