Description

A hearty one-pan dish featuring tender chicken simmered in a creamy broth with fluffy dumplings.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add onion, carrots, celery, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk to form a dough.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering broth. Cover and cook for 15 minutes until dumplings are cooked through.
  6. Stir in parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For a thicker broth, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with water and stir in before adding dumplings.
