A creamy and cheesy potato dish with garlic flavor, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients

- 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
- 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
- 1/2 cup garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Grease a 1.5 quart casserole dish.
- Layer potatoes in the dish.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Mix in the flour and salt, and stir constantly with a whisk for one minute.
- Stir in milk. Cook until mixture has thickened.
- Stir in cheese all at once, and continue stirring until melted.
- Pour cheese over the potatoes, and cover the dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven.
Notes
For a crispier top, remove the foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
