These festive tartlets combine gooey brie cheese, caramelized apples, and cinnamon flavors, shaped like Christmas trees for a holiday treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Tart Shells:
  • 1 package phyllo dough, thawed
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • For the Filling:
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • For the Assembly:
  • 8 ounce wheel of brie cheese, sliced
  • Caramel sauce for drizzling
  • Fresh rosemary for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Tart Shells: Cut phyllo dough into 4-inch squares. Brush each square with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Layer 3-4 squares together and press into greased mini tartlet pans. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden. Cool.
  3. Make Caramelized Apples: In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for 5-7 minutes until apples are tender and caramelized.
  4. Assemble: Place a slice of brie in each baked tart shell. Top with caramelized apples. Bake for another 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
  5. Drizzle with caramel sauce and garnish with rosemary shaped like trees. Serve warm.

Notes

These tartlets are best served fresh. For a festive touch, use cookie cutters to shape the phyllo like Christmas trees after baking.
