Description

Creamy mashed potatoes enhanced with the nutty flavor of brown butter.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel and cube the potatoes.
  2. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. While the potatoes are boiling, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and cook until it turns golden brown, stirring constantly.
  4. Drain the potatoes and mash them in a large bowl.
  5. Gradually add the browned butter and milk to the mashed potatoes, stirring until smooth.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk. This recipe pairs well with roasted meats.
