For the Crust:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips, melted

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in orange zest and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and flatten slightly onto the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool completely.
  7. Dip half of each cookie into melted dark chocolate and place on parchment to set.
